Privacy & cookie notice
This notice is maintained by ShulaikaDelsol and explains how we handle personal data you share through this website — in particular through the contact form — and which cookies the site uses. It is written to meet the transparency requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and comparable Curaçao and BES privacy rules.
Who is responsible
ShulaikaDelsol is the controller for personal data processed through this website. You can reach us for any privacy question at info@shulaikadelsol.com or at our Willemstad office, Caracasbaaiweg 199a, Curaçao.
The contact form: what we collect and why
The contact form asks for your name, email address, telephone number, subject, primary jurisdiction and the description of your matter. When you submit it, the form does not send anything to a server of ours: it opens a pre-filled message in your own email programme, which you then choose to send to info@shulaikadelsol.com. Nothing leaves your device until you press send in your email programme.
Once we receive your email, we use that data solely to assess your enquiry, to respond, and to run the conflict checks a law and tax practice must perform before accepting a matter.
Legal basis. Your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form and sending the message (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), together with our legitimate interest in answering enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where an engagement follows, further processing rests on the performance of our engagement letter (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and on our statutory obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Please do not send special-category data (health, criminal-record or similarly sensitive information) or confidential documents through the form. Sending an enquiry does not create a client relationship and is not privileged until an engagement letter is in place.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 12 months for conflict and follow-up purposes, then deleted. Where an engagement follows, file data is retained for the period our professional and tax retention obligations require. You may ask us to delete an unconverted enquiry sooner at any time.
Who else can see it
Your enquiry reaches our email provider and this website is hosted on Lovable's infrastructure; these providers process data on our instructions as processors under a data processing agreement. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. We disclose data to authorities only where the law obliges us to.
Because we work across Curaçao, Bonaire and the Netherlands, data may be processed in both the EU/EEA and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. Transfers outside the EEA rely on the safeguards of Chapter V GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and consent
This website uses only strictly necessary cookies and local storage: the items needed to keep the site working and to keep an administrator signed in to the article editor, plus a small record of your choice on the cookie banner. Strictly necessary items do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules and cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, social-media trackers or third-party analytics. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent through the banner before any such cookie is placed, and you will be able to withdraw it just as easily.
You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. Clearing them will simply bring the cookie banner back.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out beforehand.
Write to info@shulaikadelsol.com to exercise any of these rights; we respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with the supervisory authority of the country in which you live or work.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice whenever our practices or the website change. The current version always appears on this page. Contact us if anything here is unclear.
